A member of the intercrine alpha (chemokine CxC) family, GCP-2 is primarily involved in the chemotaxis of neutrophil granulocytes while also taking part in anti-angiogenic processes. GCP-2 signals through CXCR1 and CXCR2 receptors. Many different forms of GCP-2 have been isolated from MG-63 conditioned media which indicates that GCP-2 undergoes processing at both the N- and C- termini.
