Resistin-like beta is a FIZZ family growth factor expressed in the epithelium of the colon and small intestine. The bioactivity of this factor is not fully known as of yet, but it is suspected that Resistin-like beta plays a regulatory role during inflammation and may also act to establish links among adipose tissue, the intestine and the liver. Resistin-like beta shares a high degree of sequence homology with its fellow FIZZ family members, Resistin and RELM-alpha.
